Makeup Inspired By @Musingsofnidia

Happy Sunday everyone!! Hope you’ve all enjoyed a lovely weekend. I’ve been quite preoccupied with wedding planning and such—which can you believe that it is now less than 3 weeks away?! I certainly can’t! It’s quite overwhelming so in my spare time I’ve been reading quite a lot as well as watching a lot of YouTube, especially because I’ll be doing my own hair and makeup so I consider this time pseudo-training. Honestly, I still don’t know what route I’ll go so if you have wedding inspiration hair or makeup ideas, I’d love to read/watch!

During my search, I stumbled upon this makeup tutorial from Nidia from Musings of Nidia, which is an absolutely stunning look but not at all what I’d wear for the wedding. I’m thinking something muted and sweet to contrast with my stunning white lace dress. There are many looks I’ve loved but none that actually look that great on me…I think it’s because I’m just not sure I’ll be able to execute on the day of—I don’t know.

By the way, Nidia is such a doll! I think you’ll really enjoy her videos/blog as she is full of personality. She is saucy, honest, funny & gorgeous—just plain lovely.

Nidia took inspiration from the cover of the book Ignite Me, the last book of the Shatter Me Series who’s covers mostly consist of a big beautiful eye.

Products Used For The Smokey Blue Eye Look

The products I used were mostly items I’ve had in my collection for some time:

1.      IT Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil

2.      Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer

3.      Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen

4.      Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner

5.      Neo Perle Eye Shadow Palette

Neo Perle Eye Shadow Palette

Actually, this look gave me a perfect opportunity to use my Neo Perle Palette as I’d purchased it on a whim a while back given it’s very enticing price point of $2.50. Surprisingly, I found the pallet quite lovely. Yes, this was my first time using it since my purchase only because it’s mainly made up of jeweled toned colors I don’t generally wear on a daily basis as I’m more of a matte neutrals girl.

I’m not the best at makeup application but I always find it fun and at times amusing as to how horribly I can create a smoky eye. Alas, practice makes perfect and the help of good products as well as patience help. I think this was one of my better attempts. ;)
