The inspiration behind this piece
Anita Page became a Hollywood darling during the late 1920s. At the peak of her popularity, she was known as “the most beautiful face in Hollywood” and also received the most fanmail of any actress of the time.
She started her career in film in 1925 and retired in 1936 at the age of 26. This was in response to the demand for inappropriate requests by a certain film producer. Due to her refusal, she was deemed as one of the various uncooperative actresses at the time. Being sidelined as such made it impossible for her to find work hence she chose to retire early in her career.
In 1996, however, she made a comeback to star in a series of horror films. It was during this timeframe that she provided us with a series of interviews. (I’ve loved watching these interviews so I’ve included them below the following tribute.)
This beauty passed away peacefully in her home in 2008 at the ate of 98.
This dazzling handmade beaded bookmark is named after this wonderful woman for her poise and grace.
If you love this design, make sure to take a look at its sister beaded bookmark as it is quite dazzling as well.
