Ella Fitzgerald - The Inspiration Behind This Magnetic Crystal Brooch

The film noir era is known for distinctive cinematography, stunning sassy heroines, cynical strong heroes, and jazzy harmonious music. Among the most influential jazzy singers is Ella Fitzgerald. Her sound and contribution to the world continue to inspire.

She is quoted as saying that she is “no glamour girl…”, I beg to differ. I think she failed to see what the rest of the world saw - her natural beauty, talent, and commanding presence. Such elements easily make her a glamour goddess of her time.

Not only is her music incredibly lovely and influential, but her sense of style was also timeless. She had a love for a wide array of frocks, an affinity toward a long pearl necklace, and a preference for beautiful updos.

While she notably wore minimal jewelry, it is evident that the few pieces she chose to wear were well-chosen items. That is why I think she would have loved this brooch. It stands handsomely on its own; however, if a classic long pearl necklace were paired with this brooch, the combination would certainly take any outfit to another level of elegance. If chosen by Ella, it would have dazzled elegantly in the background of her stage presence.

How This Dazzling Magnetic Crystal Brooch Is Made

This magnetic brooch is handcrafted and designed by me, Jessica Fanny Gibson. I not only wanted to pay homage to the film noir era when designing it, but I also wanted to create something that one could wear without worrying about harming one’s clothes.

If you are anything like me, you take great pride in taking care of your garments, as most pieces in your wardrobe are thoughtfully chosen. As such, you prefer to experiment with accessories such as scarves, hats, and, of course, jewelry. This piece can easily act as a magnetic scarf brooch to add a bit of interest to your outfit.

Don’t count on it to hold you’re scarf securely like a pin brooch would as the magnet does not function as the pin. However, wherever you choose to wear it, you can count on dazzling inside and out.

Handmade beaded jewelry is delicate.

Please do not wear these pieces while exercising.

Please also remove jewelry before going to bed and store it in the small bag included with your purchase or in an airtight container.

If the hardware used to create these earrings starts to tarnish, gently clean it with a soft wet cloth.

For best results, you may consider taking it to be professionally cleaned.
